Health information

The beneficial effect is obtained with the daily intake of 5 g of olive oil. Higher consumption may be more beneficial as part of a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
The bitter and spicy sensation when swallowed is due to the high amount of antioxidant polyphenols.
The production of RMD bottles varies each year based on the olive harvest and specific conditions that impact polyphenol levels. It’s important to note that it takes more than 20kg of olives to produce 1 liter of high phenolic EVOO, whereas producing 1 liter of standard EVOO (always of our typical high levels of quality) requires around 4-5kg of olives. Additionally, not all olive fruits are suitable for producing such premium, high phenolic EVOO. Last year and this year, we used Kalamon variety olives, which are harvested very early (end of August).

  • To be consumed within a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

*The EU health claim for olive oil polyphenols needs at least 5 mg of hydroxytyrosol and its derivatives per 20 g of oil; RMD has 20 mg, four times as much.

Applications

Four ways to take it

  1. Supercharge your morning routine

Kickstart your day before your first meal, for the absorption of potent phenolic compounds like oleocanthal and oleacein, for maximum impact.

  2. Your daily wellness shot

Savour 5 g straight up as a “phenolic shot”, on its own or alongside meals.

  3. Elevate your salads and veggies

Drizzle high-phenolic EVOO raw over salads, steamed greens or bread.

  4. The finishing touch for gourmet meals

A tablespoon on your soups, grilled meats or veggies right before serving: everyday dishes transformed, with the health benefits too.
