Gold and Silver in New York

We’re proud to share that Oleve has been recognised at the 2026 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition in New York. Our Oleve Special Selection received a Gold Award and our Oleve Early Harvest a Silver Award, with both oils named among the World’s Best Olive Oils for 2026.
Recognition like this is never the work of one person, or of a single season. It belongs to the land at Sigri, to the people who tend the groves and the mill through every harvest, and to the families who choose our oils for their table. We receive it with gratitude, and with a quiet sense of responsibility to keep doing the work well.
About the NYIOOC

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each year in New York and established by Olive Oil Times, is widely regarded as the world’s most prestigious quality contest for extra virgin olive oil. Every entry is judged through rigorous, blind sensory analysis by a panel of leading international experts, which is what makes each medal a meaningful and hard-earned mark of quality.

Oleve Special Selection — Gold Award: a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil from Koroneiki and Kolovi olives, with herbaceous notes and a bright, green-tomato character — a balance that comes from careful fruit selection and close attention to timing, from harvest through extraction.

Oleve Early Harvest — Silver Award: an extra virgin olive oil that captures the fresh, green character of fruit picked early in the season.

Rooted in Sigri
Our oils begin on the western edge of Lesvos, near Sigri, where land that was once largely barren has slowly become a living, working grove. Today our family tends 50,000 olive trees across 12 varieties — among them the native Kolovi, alongside Koroneiki, Kalamon, Picual and Arbequina — together with pomegranates, figs, cypresses and other species that have turned the estate into a refuge for local flora and fauna. We enrich the soil with our own compost, made from local seaweed, manure and pruned branches: a closed loop that ties the care of each tree to the life of the whole landscape.
To everyone who has been part of this journey, thank you. These two awards from New York encourage us to keep caring for the land and crafting oils worthy of your trust, one harvest at a time.
