Chlorella is a single-celled, blue-green algae which grows in pools of pure water. Chlorella cells have a tough outer wall, which limits the availability of nutrition. Piura chlorella is known as ‘broken cell wall chlorella’, because its cell walls are broken by a high-impact jet spray process before it is dried and milled into a powder. This process means it retains virtually all the available nutritional value.
