OL-EVE PRODUCTS USED IN RECIPE: TOMATO SAUCE WITH ORANGE, EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL, SEA SALT
INGREDIENTS FOR 4 PERSONS:
- ½ kg minced beef
- 1 egg
- 2 pieces of toasted bread
- ¼ water glass ouzo
- Parsley Chopped
- About 8 leaves of fresh mint chopped
- 1 big onion grounded
- 2 garlic cloves grounded
- Sea Salt and Pepper
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Flour for battering
- 2 potatoes cut in thin chips
- For the sauce:
- 1 small jar of tomato sauce with orange
- 1 tsp, tablespoon of unsalted casius grounded in big thick pieces
- 1 ½ tsp. sweet’s tablespoons sugar for confectionary
- 1 tsp. sweet’s tablespoon of ginger grounded
- 1 tsp. sweet’s tablespoon of soya sauce
- 1 tsp sweet’s tablespoon mustard
- 1 tsp sweet’s tablespoon white vinegar
- Sea Salt
PREPARATION
In one bowl, mix the minced beef, the egg and the toasted bread (which is already pured with ouzo, mint, parsley,
garlic, onion and 2 spoons of extra virgin olive oil, sea salt and pepper). Mash them well so that all the ingredients
are blended well and shape small meatballs. Then, batter the flour and fry in hot extra virgin olive oil until they
become “rosy” and they are cooked from all the sides.
In another pan, warm the tomato sauce and add the rest of the ingredients, cook in low temperature/fire for a few
minutes until they become solid. Add the salt and when the meatballs are ready add the sauce and cook for 5
minutes. At the same time, fry in hot extra virgin olive oil the potato chips for 10 minutes and when you take them
of the pan, add the sea salt. Serve the meatballs and decorate the plate with the potato chips.
